The death toll, as of February 28, 2026, of Iranian citizens stood at approximately 32,000 dead. And no, not as a result of Operation Epic Fury. These many thousands of civilians were killed in a matter of weeks by their own government. A government of Jihadist Islam. While Iranians, both in Iran and those who moved on (escaped) to western or neutral nations,expressed their relief in various ways, crowds even cheering at the death of this man, Ali Khameini, I can almost feel how it must feel to be out from under the oppressive rule of a regime ruled by the iron hand of a dictator. I say almost because I can not, really. I haven’t been there. I have never lived under a government where one is either a part of the oppressed masses or becomes a part of the oppressor class.
The oppressor class of Iran, however, is larger than just Khameini and his closest henchmen who were all killed together at the former’s compound obliterated by U.S. bombs. We were starkly reminded of that when Iranian officials responded to the deaths of Khameini and men he worked with by sending out missiles targeting U.S. embassies in the neutral Muslim countries of Kuwait, Iraq, and others. U.S. interests in Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Oman, Jordan, Qatar, and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) either were hit by Iranian missiles or intercepted them. Saudi Arabia, whether by misfired missiles or targeted hits, sustained damage to a hotel and a restaurant in Dubai, besides the U.S. embassy being targeted inside the country.
Dubai – the Arab oasis of unverschtenich (beyond understanding) wealth, comfort, and material safety, has been shown to be more vulnerable than that famously opulent tourist spot was corporately and formerly thought to be by its entrepreneurial and tourist mindset.
By attacking American interests in neighboring but neutral countries the unprepared Iranian officials, who together took the reins of government upon the death of their supreme leader, ensured the animosity of Muslim countries already years into depending on diplomacy for a peaceful existence; and in doing so may very well have brought about their own demise as a Sharia Law based theocracy. Theocratic governments steeped in Jihadist Islamism have global conquest in mind. Believing America and Israel to be major blockades to that global conquest, Jihad Muslim terrorists have designated America as The Great Satan and, especially in Iran, chants of ‘death to America, death to Israel!’ have been tolerated, indeed encouraged, now for decades.
Death to their own people by Islamism seems to have become so commonplace and tolerated by Leftists of the free world as to no longer shock their senses in the same way it does when Israel finally, after years of Palestinian-launched explosives into Israeli territory, then launches a defensive incursion into Palestinian controlled territory after that infamousOctober 7th 2023 terrorist attack that killed over a thousand Israeli citizens. The Left expresses more shock when American police self-defensively kill individual criminals than they do when the Iranian government kills tens of thousands of its own citizens for protesting their own intolerable regime. Granted, the peaceful protests did turn violent. As they did in the U.S. where a sum total of two ICE protestors have been killed by police.
In Iran, the number of citizens killed by their government in the past few weeks has been reported citing a variety of numbers but no one questions anymore that the number is in the tens of thousands. A reliable source, a Christian pastor from inside Iran, tells us the number is between 35 and 40 thousand people dead.
Iranian officials have now given the Left a new talking point for their fake outrage. 165 school girls tragically killed when an Israeli or U.S. bomb hit the school they were attending. Yes, I said Iranian officials. And the Left-wing media are reporting it as a trustworthy fact. A ‘fact’ from Iranian officials whose ‘holy book’ teaches that lying is righteous when done for the cause of Islam. Let that sink in. For all we know it was a misfired Iranian missile.
I appreciate that the U.S. government tried diplomacy before the day of Operation Epic Fury. As defense secretary Pete Hegseth reported on March 3rd; ‘The former regime (of Iran) was given every chance to make a peaceful and sensible deal. I know, I was there. President Trump, Marco Rubio, Steve Witkoff, and Jared Kushner bent over backwards – they tried over and over and over again for a pathway to peace.’
The Iranian government has been a theocracy for 47 years and its not easy for them to lay it down even though a majority of Iranians no longer want the enforced laws and customs of Sharia. Being a theocracy does not, however, mean that they base their laws on the laws of the God of the Bible. No – Sharia law is based upon Allah of the Koran. When religious Jihad terrorists chant ‘death to America!’, when they label America as ‘The Great Satan’, when they abuse women, when their men marry underage girls, when they view lying as a good thing, when confusion havoc and plundering are the ‘sanctified’ way of spreading their religion, the religion of Jihad Islam shows itself to be diametrically opposed to our God of the Bible whose end goal of mercy is clearly expressed to us in the New Testament.
Operation Epic Fury is not spreading the Gospel of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. It may, however, open the doors to the hearts and minds of the Iranian people to hear and receive the grace of God through our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ to the encouragement and to the saving of many souls. Is the church ready to enter through those open doors? The church’s mission in Iran may soon be upon us.
