Life Matters - May 21, 2025
‘’Canst not tell’’ took on new dimensions during the former administration of… Biden (?) The cynical (against the other side of the aisle) coverup, by liberal left news “reporters,” of the presidential disarray at the White House finally had its lid blown off by one of their own. I haven’t read the book yet—and am not sure I need to—but from what I hear and read it does seem as if Jake Tapper had a change of heart, perhaps an epiphany, that jarred him enough to write a book (Original Sin) about the obvious behind-the-scenes attempt to coach a failing president into appearing competent, even if it meant a smear campaign, saying whatever could be perceived by the public as delivering a death blow to the competence of his opponent, one Donald J. Trump. We all know how that panned out.
I know, perhaps, Jake Tapper and co-author Alex Thompson only saw dollar signs, but I prefer, as I believe we should, to leave that judgement between Mr. Tapper, Mr. Thompson, and their Creator God. In the meantime we can be very thankful for the Trump administration. Very, very thankful that God has seen fit to save (or is the word salvage) Americans from another four years of anti-American policies.
That the policies were anti-American has become without question of late. The remaining question is ‘’who’s who in America?”
The America-haters have been “coming out of the woodwork,” (or is it “out of the swamp?”) from the first term of President Trump even to now. They were there all along. For many decades, perhaps even a century, humanism (self-realization through reason) has been in covert, ever more overt, opposition to Christianity in America. Lies presented as ‘’progress’’ have become mainstream by means of evolutionary unprincipled “principles,” giving unprincipled humanists the catalyst they needed to move secularism from the obscure few into mainstream culture via the public school system. The results have been catastrophic to the moral fabric of American society as a whole and to the young in particular. To what purpose? Is it not the age-old desire to annihilate Christianity and anything that God has called good? We believe it is so and driven by the archenemy of our souls, the devil.
The devil works in covert ways, by coverup and darkness. His true intent is only manifested as much as he dares. Do not relax too much. The day is coming when we can relax, safe and eternally secure. But not now. We aren’t there yet. We dare not think for a moment that he is not plotting his next move. God help us be aware of what his next move may be. Can we be awake and not ‘’ignorant of his devices’’? (II Corinthians 2:11)
I am forever grateful that my parents, and many like them, perceived what was coming down the pike and founded their own church schools in the 1960s. Not that it was a cure for all ills, but where would I be had my natural propensity to carnal ‘fun’ not been curbed? Where would my children be had my parents stayed on the easy and not chosen the difficult? God only knows and the best I can do is a time-educated guess of ‘’It would not be good.’’ I like to think I might have survived the secular humanism because of teaching at home and church, but what I like to think now, has no bearing on what might have been a personal disaster.
What politicians like to think also has no bearing on the past. Nor the future. Liberal left think-tanks may like to think all they wish that gender is a neutral construct, that same-sex marriages are ok, that hook-up culture is normal, as is divorce. That Pride flags at the White House should be normal, that inviting perverts to the White House and appointing a woman to the Supreme Court of the U.S. who cannot tell what a woman is are good things. That borders cannot be secure, that throwing numbers at the system will not cause inflation, and when it does, that inflation is only ‘transitory,’ that workers will happily and gladly give up their fossil fuel energy jobs in the ‘common interest’ of ‘saving the planet,’ (whatever that means). That more socialism and government price-fixing are good things, that capitalism is inherently greedy, that the military exit from Afghanistan was properly done, that Hunter is ‘’the smartest man I know,” that there is nothing wrong with money-laundering while calling on companies and corporations to ‘’pay their fair share.’’ That its ok for a sitting president to be on national TV news saying ‘’It’s time to put Trump in the bullseye,’’ and then not apologize for saying it when a would-be assassin does that very thing and pulls the trigger mere weeks later. That it’s ok to send words of condolence, but then continue calling his political adversary, Trump, a threat to democracy, a fascist, and a Nazi. But, “like to think” does not make anything reality. This is not normal, folks.
The Biden administration also “could not tell” that the former commander-in-chief has cancer. Until now. Perhaps they didn’t know. But now we know they did know he was in cognitive decline. It is, indeed, painful.
I hate the idea of kicking a man when he is down. Still, the objective should be; Never Again. As “canst not tell” recedes into the annals of history, may Truth prevail, and Freedom ring.
